A B O U T
Born in Los Angeles, and raised in Miami, Jacquelyn was exposed as a young child to the multi-cultural creative environment of South Florida. That environment inspired Jacquelyn to start writing songs at a young age and embrace different styles of music. Her strongest musical influences range from Carly Simon, Carole King and Susanna Hoffs, to Pink, Fergie, Hillary Scott (Lady Antebellum), Adele, and Christina Perri.
While working on her music in Miami a number of years ago, Jacquelyn’s gift of clever, catchy, yet soulful and introspective songwriting caught the attention of Grammy and Billboard award winning songwriter-producer, Rudy Perez with whom Jacquelyn now frequently collaborates. In addition, Jacquelyn has been fortunate enough to work closely with other legendary writers-producers including Paul Fox (Natalie Merchant, 10,000 Maniacs) and the two-time Grammy nominated Joel Diamond (Gloria Gaynor, Laura Branigan, Sister Sledge).
Jacquelyn’s songwriting also recently attracted long-time music business entrepreneur Al Machera (former co-manager of mega-group Salt ‘N Peppa, and current owner of Westlake Recording Studios in Hollywood), while she was recording a number of her own songs at Westlake. Machera immediately signed Jacquelyn as a songwriter to his recently launched music publishing venture, “Fr8 Train Music”, which is geared towards giving Fr8 Train writers access to major recording artists and high level producers who regularly record at Westlake’s studios. Fr8 Train also provides its writers with access to Westlake’s facilities in order to create “master” quality recordings of their songs.
Recently, Jacquelyn has been collaborating with a number of more cutting-edge songwriters, including extensive work with writer-producer Tony Rodini (a SonyATV writer who is working closely with superstar producer Felix Snow on Snow’s next artist project, “TYSM”, which is set to follow Snow’s mega-successful “Kiara” and “Terror Jr.” projects on the Effess/Atlantic label). Jacquelyn has also been busy writing hit songs with other artists such as Alicia Madison (“Promiscuous”) and Tina DeCara (star artist of musical TV show “Saturday Morning Fever”). These recent collaborations have resulted in a continuing and growing demand for Jacquelyn to collaborate with writers, producers and artists in all genres of music.
